It's all the latest rage, crossing the Arctic. WorldChanging friend and ally Ben Saunders did it, almost. Now WC friend David de Rothschild is on his own trip from Russia to Canada the hard way, and has put up a fun site where we can track his progress. David hopes to raise awareness of climate change as he goes.

This new breed of explorer -- men and women who use their trips not to open the path of empire but to help us all learn what a tiny and fragile planet we live on -- inspires me. We need worldchanging explorers, just as much as we need better scientists, designers and politicians. Godspeed, David!
