Earth Tones


Reader Emily Pollard dials us into Earth Tones ("the environmental Internet and phone company!"). As Emily puts it, "100% of its profits go to grassroots environmental orgs. EarthTones sent me a recycled phone with mailer to send in my old phone for recycling, and the coverage and package are very decent. EarthTones also offers residential, business, calling card, dial-up, and toll-free plans too." Anyone else out there tried 'em?

I used Earth Tones about five years ago, and really liked them. Haven't had a land line since then, but Working Assets (which is similar but not largely social-justice stuff as well as environmental) now offers cell phone service as well. Might be time to switch...
