The National Climatic Data Center's Paleoclimatology program, part of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), has put up a web site on abrupt climate change to answer public curiosity generated by The Day After Tomorrow. Grist Magazine's Amanda Griscom reported last week that the Bush administration tried to squelch the site, similar to attempts in April to prevent NASA staff from speaking publicly about TDAT or climate change.
The paleoclimatolgy program, meanwhile, is facing a big funding cut in the Fiscal Year 2005 budget.
