Iceland is planning to tap its massive geothermal energy supplies to create hydrogen for export, turning itself into "the Kuwait of the North" by the 2030s:

“My children, they will watch the whole transformation,” the 67-year-old Arnason told Venture, his voice choking with emotion. “And when [my] grandchildren are grown up, we will have this new energy economy in Iceland.”
