Thomas Barnett (of The Pentagon's New Map fame) is speaking here at PopTech about the functioning core of globalization and the "non integrating gaps" of places which have more or less fallen off the map (Africa, Central Asia, Indonesia) when measured by connectivity and integration into global systems.
