Now House

The Now House is a high-tech but affordable green demo home, built by Clever Homes, showing in the Bay Area through December. The house was built for $100,000 (not including land) in 35 days, but uses green building materials, passive solar design, efficient appliances, and includes tons of gadgets (like a plasma screen, laptop, and built-in WiFi for the house). Clever homes says they have a new methodology of semi-prefab, semi-custom-design, that allows them to build green buildings faster and cheaper than was possible before. According to their website, their homes can use 50% less energy and be built in 50% less time than a typical home.
