
Sprol is a "planetary sightseeing blog," using satellite imagery to "show people the visual macroscopic effects of our decisions and behavior." It's sort of like Ed Burtynsky, from space.
There's great stuff here, from Yucca Mountain to the sprawl of Detroit to the ruins of Nile Valley, and it seems very much part of the wider effort to use new technological tools to impart a wider understanding of nature.
