How we frame issues often determines whether we win or lose debates on those issues. Reframing the Planet was an attempt to share some things I'd learned about framing sustainability while doing some research with George Lakoff last year:
Environmentalism is in chaos. There are a number of reasons for this disarray: Outdated organizational structures and funding mechanisms, an extremely well-heeled opposition who understands that a little FUD goes a long way and a compliant, if not complicit, media.But the biggest reason? Environmentalists no longer talk about right kinds of priorities, in the right ways, to the right audiences.
