This Saturday: Compostmodern in SF

There are almost no conferences on green design for designers. A scattered few conferences on green design for engineers exist, but a mainstream industrial designer, graphic designer, marketer, or advertiser still has to settle for trickle-down. Compostmodern is trying to change that.

Compostmodern is a one-day conference this Saturday in San Francisco, put on by the IDSA and AIGA. Speakers will include Kalle Lasn (Adbusters), Roian Atwood (American Apparel), Jay Bolus (MBDC), Grace Hawthorne (ReadyMade), Joanne Oliver (IDEO), Paul Saffo (Institute for the Future), and others, speaking on a wide range of topics.

Only held once before (in 2004), it will be interesting to see where this conference goes; hopefully the mainstreaming of eco-design is just beginning.
