Value is a new magazine aimed at bringing issues at the dovetailing boundaries of the for-profit and non-profit sectors squarely into the mainstream business world. It's being launched by an all-star team: Laurance Allan, publisher of Strategy + Business, is at the helm, and John Elkington of SustainAbility and Jed Emerson of Generation are the convening editors. The magazine's online presence, Value News Network, has much of the first issue's content online, including a welcome from the editors, an interview with Paul Hawken about BOP practices, and a piece on the future of capital investment that draws on Emerson's Blended Value Map. Upside: Value looks like a great vehicle for bringing issues of sustainable business, social responsibility, and value creation to new audiences. Downside: The actual magazine is only available for download through the proprietary Zinio reader.
