Media That Matters Film Festival


Next Wednesday, May 31 kicks off the sixth annual Media That Matters Film Festival, presented by Arts Engine. Arts Engine is a 501(c)(3) organization devoted to supporting the production and distribution of independent media that addresses pressing social issues.

The Media That Matters Film Festival premieres on May 31 at IFC Center, NYC. Sixteen short films (8 minutes or less) by youth and independent filmmakers have been chosen to represent the best in social change filmmaking. The festival will also be screening in San Francisco, Washington DC and Bowling Green, OH. Learn more about the winning films and how you can host your own screening at mediathatmattersfest.org.

All sixteen films will be available online as well starting June 1.

I don't know how I found this, but I got their poster in the mail today, and was so frustrated that when I went to the address I kept getting forwarded to the mtm05 directory (I didn't realize that it wasn't released yet). I ended somehow stumbling onto their new section... somehow? I don't even remember how... lol; probably through google.

If you want to preview the new collection, just go back to the base url & type in master_index

Can click on watch festival in top right-hand corner and the 6th one is available. No links because I don't want to make it easy since it's not meant to be released yet.
