Dennis Dollens is an architect. The folks at Greenworks/ XFrog make software: specifically they make "organic software" which (through a process of bimimicry) helps model living materials like trees and flowers. I have no idea if their software is any good at all, but this gallery is kind of cool.
Better still, Dollens seems to have used their software to explore a bunch of interesting ideas in biomimetic and genetic architecture and create a comic book about them. He was kind enough to send us a copy, and it rocks: the structures and forms are weird, alien, evolutionary, neobiological; sort of like Front's work, but created digitally.
You can order a copy of the comic off his site, but he also offers a pretty nifty 10-page PDF, Toward Biomimetic Architecture, for free.
Go check out his work. I suspect this is the way the future looks now when it shows up on our doorstep.
