Rob Katz knows a fair bit about poverty, microfinance and new approaches to helping people in poor communities help themselves. As a Research Analyst with the Washington, D.C.-based World Resources Institute (WRI), and as the editor of the well-respected blog NextBillion.net, Rob studies unmet needs in low-income communities and how those needs might be met through new models, including microenterprises, leapfrogging and sustainable development.
Rob's going to help us all keep abreast of the latest thinking in these areas, helping understand how they apply to other Worldchanging concerns. Welcome, Rob!
Rob's Worldchanging posts so far include: DIY Solar Solutions for the Developing World and The Inter-American Development Bank.
Alex et al - you are too kind. I am incredibly honored and excited to become part of the Worldchanging crew. If you ever have story suggestions, comments, complaints, brilliant ideas, light-bulb-moments, or just want to riff, get in touch. Oh, and if you're ever in DC...let me know. WRI has incredible green office space that's pretty worldchanging in its own right. Stop by; I'll be happy to show you around.
