Part of a global womenï¿œs movement dedicated to providing choices and opportunities for women from a wide range of backgrounds, the Global Fund for Women is a grant-giving institution for financing projects outside of the United States that advance womenï¿œs human rights. Since 1987 the fund has given over $47 million ($7.3 million was given out in 2004 alone) to organizations addressing the specific needs of women in their communities.
