Meet Alex. Alex is the Executive Editor of Worldchanging - an award-winning and fast-growing online magazine covering tools, models and ideas for building a better future. Worldchanging's had an exciting year and things are heating up, so Alex needs a part-time Executive Assistant!
Imagine you. You're both worldchanging and wonderful to work with. You are professional, friendly, optimistic, organized, energetic and impassioned. Like a superhero, you can kick ass and tell jokes at the same time. You secretly think that when Margaret Mead said "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world," she was talking about you.
Alex is a busy guy; he travels a lot, he gets inhuman amounts of email, and doesn't have enough hours in the day to get through all the research, correspondence and planning that he needs to take care of. That's where you come in. Tasks range from prepping documents and arrangements for upcoming travel, to light editorial research, to running basic errands, to data entry, to support while he's on the road, to note-taking during editorial meetings, to answering reader email, to connecting with an extraordinary collective of international thinkers, writers and activists.
Great organizational skills, attention to detail, self-motivation and a strong work ethic are essential. You'll also need a great sense of humor, a sunny personality and a belief that the work we do in the world ought to matter.
Worldchanging is an international non-profit organization headquartered in a beautiful loft on Capitol Hill in Seattle, Washington. Alex is joined at Worldchanging HQ by Managing Editor, Sarah, Editorial and Program Coordinator, Tessa and Office Manager Justin. You'll be number five in our team of dedicated, hardworking Worldchangers.
