Blogging the Pakistan Emergency

The civil emergency in Pakistan is only getting worse: private television stations (dynamic sources of news and information, normally) have been taken off the air by the government; local phone and Internet access have been blocked or curtailed.

But "[B]loggers in Pakistan have responded to the situation, even as criticizing the government or mobilizing action could pose a risk to their personal safety," according to Global Voices Online, which is aggregating blogging from Pakistan, Nepal, India and Bangladesh. Some are available in multiple languages, and the feature also includes updates from select English-language blogs.
