Cat-herding and Worldchanging

This may be my favorite ad of the year. It certainly touches on something I've felt from time to time:

Thanks Jon Stahl!

Probably one of the most memorable Superbowl ads of all time, for one of the least memorable companies (I think that I've re-forgotten their name already). I'm guessing that they spent a good 2/3 of their venture capital just getting it on the air. Ah, the days of the dot com bubble...

EDS? They are a HUGE global info tech consultancy founded by Ross Perot (remember him?).

It is a great ad, but I have a big issue with consultancies like EDS, especially when they do government work. The massive projects these guys take on, and then the massive failures that often ensue mean the public often pays big on undelivered promises while companies like EDS go on to get another big contract. The Canadian Gun Registry is one example.

Believe me, these big consultancies are NOT Worldchanging companies.
