Engineers Without Borders is a chapter-based organization devoted to bringing technical expertise to the developing world to assist with fundamental needs like clean water and reliable power. Through innovative initiatives like the Appropriate Technology Design Team, the group strives to find solutions tailored to the social and technological contexts in which they'll be used, such as a $100 wind turbine that can be manufactured using local materials, or a water carrier that can be shipped cheaply to the remote areas that need it.
