During my stint at Participant Productions (An Inconvenient Truth), I had the honor and pleasure of working with Meredith Blake, and I would like to award a grant to her new venture, Cause & Affect.

Cause & Affect is an innovative agency that partners with corporations, film and television producers, philanthropic organizations and influential individuals to create effective social action campaigns on a wide variety of issues. Among several projects, Meredith's team is currently working with Paul Allen and his three-part PBS series, HUMAN NATURE (2010) that will explore social relationships and the role they play in our pursuit of happiness and emotional well-being. Cause & Affect developed a groundbreaking outreach and advocacy campaign to include a robust website at PBS.org, toolkits addressing the importance of early childhood attachment and reintegration for military families, and a whole host of opportunities for online and in-person activism in order to improve the lives of individuals and families. Through Cause & Affect's work, HUMAN NATURE has the potential for much greater impact on the lives of those it is intended to reach.

Cause & Affect is leading the way for companies and organizations to have a lasting and measurable impact on the world around them. Cause & Affect believes it makes good business sense for brands to "walk the walk" and they are putting their experience and passion in social advocacy behind those efforts for the good of their clients and the public alike.
