Rajendra Pachauri, the chairman of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, says he supports the goal of cutting atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide to 350 parts per million, a highly ambitious target supported by many environmental activists. Speaking with Agence France Presse, Pachauri said that he cannot officially endorse the 350 target. “But as a human being I am fully supportive of that goal,” said Pachauri. “What is happening, and what is likely to happen, convinces me that the world must be really ambitious and very determined at moving toward a 350 target.” Current atmospheric concentrations of CO2 are close to 390 ppm, and if emissions are not brought under control, scientists say, levels could exceed 500 ppm this century, nearly twice as high as pre-industrial levels. Leading environmental activists, such as Bill McKibben, say that reducing CO2 levels to 350 ppm is the best way to avoid highly disruptive effects of global warming. Key climate talks will be held this December in Copenhagen. Meanwhile, 300 environmental groups and other organizations — including Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth — have written a letter to U.S. Senate leaders urging them to strengthen a climate bill that has been passed by the U.S. House of Representatives and is now before the Senate.

Low CO2 levels can wipe out Greenery and can be another disaster!
Despite almost ten years of climate cooling, the lack of any effect by rising CO2, and the lack of any defendable real science behind man-made global warming, Pachauri continues to push a political agenda for blaming the climate on humans. The IPCC was set up by Maurice Strong in 1988 to show the effects of global warming whether they are happening or not. (This is obviously true, since we have been cooling for half of the time that the IPCC has existed.) They have absolutely no interest in proving its existence or not, just to try to convince the world that anything that happens in our climate is our fault - then they can get us do accept radical mandates, that we would normally reject, under the guise of saving the world and us. This is nothing but a scam and an attempt to produce a world level economy based on carbon and, eventually, a one-world government. Here, Pachauri is soft-peddling carbon control by pretending to set realistic goals - for something false. Trace gases cannot and will not drive our climate and CO2's fluctuation always follow temperature changes, not the reverse. Methane is another false worry. Its levels have actually been declining with intermittent spikes from volcanic activity, but you will never hear about that in the news. You will also not hear that the Arctic ice is about a million square kilometers greater right now than it was in 2007 and there is a great increase in multiyear ice. When the permafrost melts, there is not a huge out flow of methane. There is a lot of life there waiting to grow. Such melted areas have been shown to be net carbon sinks when they wake up and starts metabolizing. Beware of this man, he is not on our side.
