Emily Leslie

Emily Leslie is an energy engineer and kitesurfer based in San Francisco, California. Emily's work focuses on the crossover between energy technology and policy in solving the problems of local pollution and climate change. Emily has experience in a variety of renewable energy and energy efficiency projects, from hardware implementation to providing consulting engineering support to policy-makers, developing innovative city programs to reduce the environmental impacts of energy consumption.

Emily has helped local governments evaluate the cost-effectiveness of proposed energy efficiency measures, and helped evaluate and compare the potential energy savings and social and environmental impact of proposed rules. Emily has also led wind power resource assessments, economic analysis, and due diligence for proposed utility scale wind power projects in the US and internationally.

Formerly a researcher for Stanford University's Global Climate and Energy Project, Emily has worked with combustion engine, fuel cell, microturbine, solar, and cogeneration technologies. Her bachelor's and master's degrees in Energy Engineering were sponsored by the Mechanical Engineering department at Stanford University.
