With a strong belief in investing in our youth, she founded a youth program under the umbrella of the Washington Council on International Trade and regularly mentors for Ashoka Foundation’s Youth Venture, and City Year. She is constantly baffled and humbled by the brilliance, ingenuity and innovation of young people building youth led change and shifting our global landscape for the better.
At Worldchanging, she puts the hundreds of blogs, magazines, news articles, and tweets she follows to good use by helping keep our social media content fresh and making sure you know what’s happening by getting the word out about our events and activities.
A graduate from Leadership Tomorrow, the Asian Pacific American Community Leadership Foundation’s Community Leadership Program, and the University of Washington in Journalism and International Studies, her day job is in community relations and outreach in urban planning at the City of Seattle.
When not working, My Tam is an avid lover of books, photography, music, the arts, urban hiking, making friends with the cheese guy at local grocery stores and farmer’s markets, and is known for throwing down feasts in the kitchen, cooking massive meals for her friends, family, and youth at the Service Board, and the Boys and Girls Club.
