Tonight, January 22, 7-9 pm at the Hideout Theatre (617 Congress Avenue):
Colin Rowan, director of communication for Environmental Defense, will give a live presentation of the global warming slideshow that became the lead character in Al Gore's movie An Inconvenient Truth. This is not a showing of the DVD movie. It is a live performance of the slideshow that became the movie.
By now, most people have heard about "An Inconvenient Truth," the documentary about global warming. Since its release in May, it has become the 3rd most successful documentary in US film history. In September, The Climate Project began training 1,000 citizens to give this presentation in their communities. Colin has been part of the team training these volunteers, (he just returned from the last training session in Nashville this week) but he's also accepted the charge to deliver this
important message in Austin.
He is scheduling showings at various Austin venues – from churches to businesses. But he's also booked the Hideout Theatre for a few dates in 2007. The January 22 showing is the first of the New Year. Please consider attending. You'll leave the theatre with a new perspective on this urgent issue and an enthusiasm for helping make change in Texas and across the country. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email Colin at crowan@mac.com. You might also send an email to reserve a seat, as the theatre has limited seating.
