7,000 Trees in 7 Days

During his 2006 annual State of the City address, Mayor John Hickenlooper announced an ambitious tree planting program, with a goal of adding one million new trees in the metropolitan Denver area by the year 2025, with a program called "Tree by Tree."

To kick off the program, Greenprint Denver is coordinating "7,000 Trees in 7 Days," a week-long event during April 21-28, 2007 featuring a variety of tree planting activities. More than 2,400 volunteers will plant trees at over 40 different events throughout the Denver metro area. After planting their trees, participants are encouraged to phone in to report their tree planting.
