If you don't have plans for this weekend, you're in luck. Here are all-free, all-WorldChanging ways to spend your Saturday, from morning to, well, Sunday.
10 am: Kick off your day by attending a free, Introduction to Permaculture Class at the Audubon Center at Debs Park. Learn how you can integrate WorldChanging ideas about food production, housing, technology and community development into your daily life.
12:30 pm: If you cant wake up in time for the permaculture class, get your lazy butt on your bike for C.I.C.L.E.'s car-free Hauliday Toys 'n' Mittens ride. Bring yourself, your bike, and toys and warm clothes to share with families in need. Then gear up for a festive bicycle ride that will tour Hollywood and surrounding neighborhoods playing hauliday tunes from a bicycle-based sound system.
2 pm. Chill out at the Global Green Holiday Celebration, hosted by Livingreen in Culver City. Enjoy holiday foods, soynogg, and cheer while taking in a presentation on Greening your Holidays. If you'll be there, RSVP to: gbrc@globalgreen.org.
5:30 pm. Head over to MAKE Magazine's Issue #8 Launch Party at Machine Project for free beer and pretzels and a lot of DIY information.
7 pm. This party, you can't miss -- because it's the WorldChanging Book Launch Party! Hosted by GOOD Magazine at Equator Books, this is the party that LA WorldChangers will be talking about in the years to come.
8 pm. If you're an East Side Angeleno unwilling to come out to Venice for the WorldChanging party, the Garment Worker Center Birthday Bash is for you. To celebrate its fifth anniversary, the GWC bash features a speech from Former Senator Tom Hayden, along with other surprise guests. You'll also be able to get all your fair trade holiday shopping done!
