Bikewinter 2007: the countdown begins

Angelenos, get ready for a wheely good time.

It starts with a serious party Friday eve, continues with two weeks of mad cyclebration, and ends with a chocolate tasting bike tour on Valentine’s Day.

From February 2nd – 14th, bike fans will gather in force for BIKEWINTER 2007, an ongoing series of street parties and biketivism to celebrate two wheels as a legit form of transportation.

The concept for BIKEWNTER started in Chicago, where year-round cyclists face real weather, (granted, it did snow in Malibu recently), quickly spread to Milwaukee, Madison, and Ann Arbor, and just last year, came to Los Angeles.

Fortunately for us, BIKEWINTER Socal style doesn’t require a ski mask or diehard commitment -- just a bike, a sense of adventure, and a desire to fight the maddening traffic that defines our city.

If you’ve never experienced LA cycling culture, this is your chance to dial into a highly energized, diverse community of change-makers…..who know how to throw one helluva fiesta.
