Robertson's Palmdale Honda will be the first auto dealership in the nation to build an on-site natural gas refueling station. This leverages Honda’s unique position in the U.S. marketplace as the only automaker to offer natural gas vehicles (NGV) to consumers. Honda's natural gas Civic GX sells for about $25,000 before incentives.
NGVs are also eligible for single occupancy carpool lane use, which should make this an attractive opportunity for road-weary commuters. The fuel will be a wholesale price of 22 cents a gallon, and the station should be operational within a month.
