This past week, my wife and I hosted Brooklyn Green Drinks at our Park Slope store. The event was a lot of fun and it got me thinking about how simple, yet important Green Drinks may be for our environmental future.
If you haven't heard of Green Drinks before, it's an amazing international movement found in 147 cities around the globe. The idea is simple: pick a location, invite greenies from all over the city to have a drink and mix. There are no pressures, speeches or pretenses, just alcohol and sociable environmentalists. For example, the folks who attended the Brooklyn event included: green bloggers, writers, non-profit advocates, designers, architects, printers, lawyers and construction managers, all discussing their green-influenced work, exchanging cards and creating new opportunities. Who knows what world-changing ideas will be created under these conditions?

Oh, and for the New Yorkers out there, don't forget to attend Green Drinks' 5th Annual Big Green Holiday Party and Raffle: Tuesday, December 12th from 7pm-midnight at M1-5, 52 Walker Street between Church and Broadway.
