Tonight: "Democratization and the Networked Public Sphere"

Article Photo

In little more than ten years, political participation worldwide has been fundamentally changed by citizen news reporting, info-sharing via blogs and wikis, using mobile phones for organizing, and new forms and distribution methods for art. Networked communications are making a big impact on how individuals act collectively to be heard and make change. What potential does this "networked public sphere" have for empowering democracy? Find out more tonight, when some leaders in this arena explore the topic at The New School: Trebor Scholz, danah boyd, and Ethan Zuckerman (a Worldchanging contributor and board member).

The talk is tonight at The New School, Theresa Lang Community and Student Center, 55 West 13th Street, 2nd floor. Ticket price is $8; less than a movie!
