Gwen Rose

As a renewable energy advocate with Vote Solar (www.votesolar.org), I am working in different states (NY, HI, FL, CA) to remove regulatory barriers and create the policy infrastructure necessary to build solar energy markets. Prior to Vote Solar, I coordinated a climate protection and solar outreach program for a local government in Marin. I received my B.S. from UC Berkeley in Environmental Sciences.

Born and raised in the Bay Area, I currently live on the Sausalito waterfront where rising sea levels bring the threat of flooding to my doorstep with an unseasonable and increasing frequency. From the live/work space that I share with my husband and our close friends, we run a biodiesel co-op to provide the fuel to our neighbors and our own vehicles.

When not pursuing world-changing endeavors, my favorite diversions include rock climbing, backpacking, snowboarding, clothesmaking (sometimes for subversive clowns), power tool drag racing, and traveling.
