What do you see when you look at 520?

If you've ever whiled away an hour in traffic by pining for another lane of highway, maybe it's time to rethink the problem. Perhaps it's not road space that we're lacking, so much as an effective means of getting where we want to go.

A new video from Sightline pictures what Seattle highway 520 might look like if 76 solo drivers decided to take the bus. The clip presents the complex issue neatly in a 60-second package.

Sightline has done loads of work to prove that a variety of transit options plus smart transportation policies--not new lanes of highway--are our best solutions for cutting both gridlock and transportation emissions dramatically.

But conveying a message is also best tackled with a variety of media, rather than a single approach. For some, a picture may be worth its weight in white paper.
