Seattle's 100 Best: Send Us Your Ideas!

Article Photo

On Worldchanging, we're always shouting out the best new ideas and innovations from all around the globe – from South Africa's PlayPump to San Francisco's recent traffic-reduction measures. But now it's time to be a little self-centered: here on our city blog, we're going to train the spotlight exclusively on the best Seattle has to offer.

So, what can Seattle teach the world?

Starting in September, we're going to bring you 100 of the very best solutions produced right here in the Emerald City. This cherry-picked sampling will include our most innovative institutions, our most progressive policies, and also actual physical structures, ideas, individuals and more.

Everything is fair game, from local businesses to community groups, from science to technology to the arts. We want to showcase what makes Seattle a world-changing city – both because we want all of our readers in Seattle to know what's in their neighborhood, and because we want to inspire more readers around the world.

If you've got ideas, please send a brief note to editor@worldchanging.com, with "Seattle to the World/[Your Idea]" in the subject heading. And please stay tuned as we track down the local frontlines of innovation.

Worldchanging ideas. City-sized debate. Let's get started!

I began this petition after learning that last month Ecuador added the "rights of nature" to it's Constitution. To give Nature the right to live, to be free from abuse, and to live in natural harmony is to truly free ourselves from the prison of our industrailized society and preserve life for many generations to come. www.thepetitionsite.com/1/naturehasarighttolive
